I love the idea of marking our own micro-seasons. Here in the northeast there is that one sunny day in late summer where the sunlight softens and grows slightly hazy, I call it smokelight, and it lasts for awhile until the temperature makes a sudden downturn into that first crisp, clear autumn day. Thank you for this post, and the lightning!
@vicnordgren - I have so enjoyed describing the micro-seasons here, even more than I thought I would. If you ever decide to do something similar, let me know! I would love to learn about the tiny changes that occur where you live. That smokelight sounds beautiful.
I love everything about this- the poem, the darkness and rain suddenly lit up with lightening, microseasons. <3
Inez, thank you!
"unveiled by clouds" -- love the idea that clouds, which usually mask the sky, hold a sort of revelation.

Yes, yes, yes! I can’t wait to start seeking them out and identifying them!
