The Palace Hotel in Port Townsend, WA is considered to be haunted, like many of the buildings there. But aren’t all great spaces haunted? And by haunted, I mean: alive and inhabited by a presence we do not understand. Like a great, frightening and gorgeous love.

Be always close, but not so close that I can’t see anything. And if you go away I’ll be better left and better be right. It’s no use to me this clairvoyance that kindness kills. I hide in the currents thick with fog, but sweetheart, please: find me nonetheless.
