I wish you and yours a healthy, safe, and wondrous 2024. December 31st feels to me like a day where you can wish for anything; a day to be the most optimistic you can be; a day more hopeful than any other. December 31st is a day that is bursting with promise and possibility, even in the midst of all that seems too much to overcome or to endure. A day to write a wish-note, tuck it into a bottle and send it out to sea (or post it on Substack)…
2024, may you allow us to see ourselves as the divine miracles that we are; encourage us to show compassion, tolerance and appreciation for all those who seem unlike us (but are not); compel us, in whatever way we can, to admire and protect this brittle and singular earth. We all deserve nothing less.
